Our team of licensed and accredited plumbers specialises in efficiently detecting backflow risks, implementing prevention measures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and logging the results with Sydney Water.
Backflow occurs when water from a property flows backwards into council water pipes, potentially contaminating the water supply and posing health risks. RPZ (Reduced Pressure Zone) and backflow testing are critical procedures in plumbing that help ensure the safety of the water supply for commercial properties, industrial facilities, public buildings and certain residential setups.
RPZ testing evaluates the functionality of your RPZ devices that are designed to prevent the reverse flow of contaminated water into the main water supply. Our expert team examines your devices to ensure they are providing adequate protection against backflow. Backflow testing assesses the overall performance of your prevention system by examining devices such as check valves and pressure vacuum breakers, to identify and resolve issues.
Drawing on many years of experience, GF James handles the entire process from running the tests and providing accurate results to installing essential RPZ devices. We can also ensure that all results reports are submitted to Sydney Water to demonstrate your compliance with local rules, regulations and safety standards.
GF James Plumbing offers professional backflow prevention, compliance and RPZ device testing services to commercial clients in and around Sydney. Our fully licensed and insured plumbers are trained to efficiently detect your risk of backflow, advise you on the best backflow prevention measures, and make sure your existing measures are compliant with the highest industry standards.

Expert Backflow Prevention Measures
At GF James Plumbing, we have a major focus on water and plumbing safety, especially with commercial plumbing. That’s why we offer expert backflow prevention, Reduced Pressure Zone (RPZ) device testing and industry compliance. Our accredited backflow plumbers will efficiently inspect your plumbing system to determine your backflow risk and assess your need for a backflow prevention device. They will then install an RPZ device, conduct routine tests and lodge the results with Sydney Water.
What Is an RPZ Device?
An RPZ device is a valve that prevents backflow and back-siphoning from occurring in your plumbing system. It is only installed in properties where there is a high risk of backflow, is compliant with council regulations and can conveniently be tested to ensure efficiency.
